Protection of victims by the Kleve police
The Kleve District Police Department has been providing victim protection and victim support since 1999. The task of the Kleve police victim protection service is to provide those affected by criminal offenses and traffic accidents as well as other harmful events with timely and comprehensive information about their rights and victim support services.
The aim of police victim protection is to protect victims from further negative consequences and to stabilize them.
Victims are primarily injured parties who are directly or indirectly affected. However, they can also be relatives, witnesses, first responders and emergency services.
The victim protection officers for the areas of crime and traffic offer victims their support. They refer victims to further victim support facilities and advice centers.
